| Bio: |  This is me. I am a 20 year old psychology student, studying at Lancaster University (UK). I love my course, but haven’t got a clue what I want to do when I finish. Maybe I’ll win the lottery and then I can be a student forever! Happiness comes in many shapes and sizes. fancygens.com The finer details. Politics? British politics is a bit boring if you ask me. I think that’s a good thing. Watch Michael Moore’s “SiCKO” and you will see what I mean. I am pro-Scottish and Irish independence, but at the same time I’m not sure that would be great for the economy. I wish I could vote in the USA. I can’t wait to see the back of George Bush, although his ramblings do keep me amused! Religion? I was brought up as a Christian, but never really believed in God. I don’t believe that an all-powerful being created the universe. I believe in science, that the universe was created through the big bang and that people evolved from micro-organisms. However, I do believe in the basic principles of Buddhism. It makes sense to me, but I can’t call myself a Buddhist as I do not actively practise the religion. So at the moment I’m floating somewhere between Atheism and Buddhism. Whilst I’m not religious, I do find the topic of religion interesting. I’m open-minded and would never judge someone because of their religion, but am more likely to be intrigued by their beliefs. There is no right or wrong religion, it’s a matter of personal choice. Abortion? Again, mixed feelings. I’m pro-choice. If I got pregnant now then realistically I think I would have an abortion. I don’t believe that a baby should be brought into the world unless the parents have the resources necessary to raise the child (time, money). BUT, I won’t get pregnant because I am educated and use contraception. Abortion should be legal, but I think people should take more responsibility for their actions. I’m with Jeremy Kyle on this one. Drugs? The current laws surrounding drugs are insane. If alcohol were discovered today, it would be a class A drug, along with tobacco. They are two of the most addictive drugs out there, and cause endless lists of health problems. I believe that all drugs should be legalised. Heroin aside, most drugs aren’t as bad as the media make out. A study published by The Guardian recently found that, of the 20 most dangerous drugs, heroin and cocaine were at the top (unsurprisingly), alcohol was 5th, tobacco 11th, LSD 13th and ecstasy 18th… Hmm. The problem is that the law has been this way for so many years, it would be impossible to make alcohol and tobacco illegal, and dangerous as people would just try to make their own like In the prohibition. Don’t get me wrong, I like getting drunk, and don’t want alcohol to be illegal, I just think it’s a bit stupid that people can get locked up if it's not their drug of choice! Procrastination? Guilty. If you want to know my opinions on anything else then ask me because I should really be revising now! | |||||
